Why Switzerland?
With its natural and stunning beauty, why not Switzerland? Deciding on one location was difficult because there were so many options to choose from! Since Glarus is close to Zurich, the location offered a much easier travel experience for most guests, reducing the amount of flights needed. Glarus is also the original home town of Sophia's paternal family. Her great grandfather used to visit the Klontalersee often with his family, and he owned a bakery in Glarus (Bakery Reichmuth, pictured below) that still operates today! Her great grandfather's bakery has supported Hotel Rhodannenberg for decades, the location for the reception.

Public Transportation & Weather
There are trains between Zurich and Glarus that are fast and reliable. Let us know if you have any difficulty arriving! You can always check this guide.

Since Glarus is in the mountains, the weather can change quickly. Mornings and late evenings tend to be cooler so we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweatshirt. Typically, one can expect lows of 10ºC/55ºF, and highs of 21ºC/70ºF. Sometimes there is light rain, and the humidity can be around 84%.
